A children’s residential care facility needs to provide more than a place to stay. It should offer an environment where children can experience care, safety and dignity in their everyday lives. With this objective in mind, A&G Powering Construction undertook the reconstruction and renovation of selected areas at the “Agios Andreas” Children’s Home in Alimos in 2021, helping improve its facilities and expand its accommodation capacity.
“Agios Andreas” provides residential care for children aged 4 to 12 who lack family care and are in need of protection. Alongside accommodation, the facility supports children’s education, recreation and everyday development, with the aim of preparing them for social integration and, where possible, reunification with their families or placement in foster care.
A&G’s contribution focused on spaces directly connected to the children’s daily living conditions. Two new bedrooms were created on the ground floor, while the medical office and examination room on the first floor were converted into two additional bedrooms, increasing the facility’s accommodation capacity.
The project also included the complete renovation of the kitchens and food storage areas on both floors, with the aim of improving the conditions in which meals are prepared and provided. In addition, a ground-floor storage room was converted into a bathroom, and the first-floor bathroom was renovated.
Through this initiative, A&G contributed to the improvement of essential facilities at “Agios Andreas”, supporting the people who provide daily care for the children living there. The value of this project lies in its practical contribution to a place that plays an important role in the children’s everyday lives and development.
A&G Powering Construction contributes to the development of major infrastructure projects, undertaking complex electrical engineering and construction works across Greece and international markets.
